Universal Healthcare

Healthcare is a human right. Every man, woman, and child deserves to live a happy and healthy life, and we must not create barriers between individuals and their healthcare needs. Our current healthcare system treats healthcare as a privilege instead of recognizing it as an unalienable right. Many healthcare issues start out small and can be easily treated early on, but many Americans still cannot afford that treatment. No one should go broke paying a medical bill or filling a prescription.

Marsha’s first plan is to hold Big Pharma accountable for outsized medication costs and mandate a price cap on prescriptions. Marsha also supports universal healthcare, a publicly funded health insurance plan that will eliminate coinsurance, co-pays, and surprise medical bills.

Marsha also supports expanding access to mental health care services in general, but especially to our military, first responders, and low income earners.

• Create a Universal Healthcare Plan, single-payer, national health insurance program to provide everyone in America with comprehensive health care coverage, free at the point of service.

• Expand Medicare to include: dental, hearing, vision, and home- and community-based long-term care, in-patient and out-patient services, mental health and substance abuse treatment, reproductive and maternity care, prescription drugs, and more.

• Forgive all medical debt.
